2009 Army JROTC National Army JROTC Leadership Symposium, hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, June 26-30, 2009 Academic Bowl The annual Army JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl brings together hundreds of students from around the world to participate in a leadership symposium and compete in the largest academic bowl in the country. Army JROTC students compete in teams of four high school students covering the math, English, history and science topics they will see in college entrance exams. By participating, students learn the values of leadership, citizenship and academic competition, while receiving preparation for higher education, including preparation for college entrance exams. Leadership Symposium Seventy-two teams, comprising 288 students, have advanced to the National Army JROTC Leadership Symposium.
