*Participate in the FREE Army JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) competition and your team may win a chance to attend the JLAB Championship in Washington, DC! 

To properly participate in the JROTC Academic and Leadership Bowls, you need the following minimum computer requirements:
  1. PC or Macintosh with display resolution set to 1024x768 or higher resolution (you can use a projector or large monitor)
  2. The most current version of your Internet Browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Opera, etc.)
  3. The Adobe Flash Plug-in installed in your web browser GET FLASH
  4. Speakers for your computer and the audio turned on
  5. You need to close all other open applications on your computer (including calculator and other web pages) and have your browser window maximized.
  6. NOTE: If your web browser has multiple toolbars (search engines, etc.) please close them. You can also use F11 to make your Internet Explorer window Full Screen.
  7. Test the computer and display that you will use to view the contest.

JROTC ACADEMIC BOWL AND LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM NOTES:

  • All units will participate in Level I of the Leadership and Academic Bowl – two different tests administered during the same window of dates.
  • All units will form two teams – a leadership team and an academic bowl team.
  • Cadets may only participate on one team - either the Leadership team or the Academic Bowl team – no crossover between teams.
  • Teams with scores in the top 50% in Level I will participate in Level II.
  • If your school is prone to winter storms and school closings, please do NOT wait until the last day to participate. Deadline extensions will be granted on a very limited basis.
  • ACADEMIC TEAMS
  • Twenty-four academic teams will advance to the Academic Championship which will be held in Washington, DC (JLAB)..
  • All teams advancing to Level III (The Championship - JLAB) will be asked to participate in a peer-to-peer tutoring project covering topics on the SAT/ACT (3-5 hours of prep work). Teams will also be asked to participate in a voluntary fundraiser.
  • LEADERSHIP TEAMS
  • Forty Leadership teams will advance to the Leadership Championship and Symposium which will be held in Washington, DC (JLAB).
  • All teams advancing to Level III (JLAB) will be asked to participate in a peer-to-peer tutoring project. Cadets will prepare materials related to leadership topics covered in the Leadership Bowl (3-5 hours of prep work). The lesson will be completed at JLAB and distributed to all JROTC units to help other students enhance their leadership skills. Teams will also be asked to participate in a voluntary fundraiser.
